America’s educators laud Clinton middle class tax proposal

Expanded tax credits will expand opportunity for all children and help restore fairness to our economy

WASHINGTON - October 11, 2016 -

National Education Association president Lily Eskelsen García provided the following reaction to the release of Hillary Clinton’s new middle class tax plan:

“Doubling the child tax credit for young children and expanding it further for middle-class families shows that Hilary Clinton’s knows how important it is to provide opportunity to every child, regardless of ZIP code. Educators and their families support this proposal and an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top."

NEA experts and rank-and-file members from all states are available to discuss how this proposal will help working families cope with the rising costs for child care, health care, caregiving and college.
