TOMORROW: NEA President to address hundreds of union members at major “get out the vote” event
PHILADELPHIA - October 14, 2016 -
NEA president Lily Esklesen García will address hundreds of union members on Saturday at a major “get out the vote” (GOTV) rally alongside other national union presidents. The member volunteers in attendance will then conduct an all day GOTV canvass of Philadelphia and surrounding counties on behalf of Hillary Clinton and U.S. Senate candidate Katie McGinty. McGinty will also speak at the rally.
Pennsylvania is a key battleground state in 2016, and this organizing event is part of a larger labor effort to canvass across the city and state on Saturday in the lead-up to Election Day on November 8.
